Man Fatally Crushed by Tanker Truck in Guwahati’s Narengi

A middle-aged man was tragically crushed to death after being run over by a tanker truck in the Narengi area of Guwahati late on Monday night. The identity of the deceased is still unknown, and the driver of the truck reportedly fled the scene after the incident.

The tanker truck, bearing registration number ‘AS 25FC 2596’, ran over the man, causing fatal injuries. Sources informed that the driver immediately fled the area, leaving the victim behind.

The deceased is believed to be a local businessman, but his identity has not yet been confirmed. Following the incident, the city police arrived at the scene and recovered the body for post-mortem examination.

Currently, the body of the deceased is being kept at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for further procedures.

In a separate incident, two youths lost their lives when their motorcycle crashed into a utility pole in the Goalpara district of Assam. The incident occurred near Baguan village in Kharmuza Tehsil. Sources revealed that the motorcycle was traveling at a high speed at the time of the accident, leading to the tragic outcome.

The deceased individuals have been identified as Sariful Islam and Akthar Hussain. Another person, identified as Ashraful Haque, sustained injuries in the collision. Local police were alerted to the incident and retrieved the bodies for post-mortem examination. The injured individual was promptly taken to the emergency room for medical treatment.

Road accidents continue to pose a significant threat to public safety in Assam. Authorities and law enforcement agencies must prioritize road safety measures and increase awareness campaigns to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring.
