Brantford Men Charged in Connection with Kidnapping of Mississauga Man

Two men from Brantford have been charged in connection with the kidnapping of a man in Mississauga last August. The victim was driving near Dixie Road and Dundas Street when he was intentionally rear-ended by the suspects. When the victim tried to exchange information, one of the suspects allegedly showed a gun and forced the victim into their vehicle. They then took him to a warehouse in the area of Eglinton Avenue and Ridgeway Drive, where they assaulted him. The victim managed to escape and reported the incident to 11 Division. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following an investigation, police arrested two men this month. They also found a 12-gauge shotgun at a residence in Brantford during the arrest. The suspects have been identified as Raza-Syed Jafri, 24, and Aziz Syed, 32. Jafri has been charged with kidnapping with a firearm to hold for ransom and conspiracy to commit an indictable offense. Syed faces charges of careless storage of a firearm and knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Authorities have stated that this incident is believed to be isolated and there is no risk to public safety. The charges against the two men have not yet been tested in court.
