58-Year-Old Woman Killed While Trying to Save Son from Mob

Lucknow: A 58-year-old woman was killed in the Shohratgarh area of Siddharthnagar district while trying to save her son from a mob. The incident occurred when the woman’s son, Mohammed Saleem, 29, was accused of mobile theft and was being beaten up by a crowd near their house.

Shanno Bano, the victim, rushed to her son’s rescue but was hit on the head by the mob. She was immediately taken to the hospital but unfortunately died during treatment.

The police have arrested two suspects, identified as Amit Kumar and Imran Khan, and are making efforts to identify others involved in the attack. The woman’s husband, Mohammed Hamidullah, was not at home at the time of the incident.

According to the police, Shanno Bano heard loud cries for help from her son from inside the house. She rushed out and came between the attackers and her son, but she was struck on the head with a stick. She fell to the ground in a pool of blood.

The locals immediately rushed her to the hospital, but the doctors declared her dead. The killing has sparked outrage in the area, and the locals are demanding strict action against the accused.

Police Circle Officer, Shohratgarh, Garvit Singh, assured that the matter will be thoroughly investigated, and all those involved will be brought to justice.
