Swift expressed her devastation over the loss on Instagram, stating that she felt overwhelmed by grief. The second show in Rio was subsequently postponed due to the extreme heat, with Swift prioritizing the safety and well-being of her fans, performers, and crew.

Benevides’ father called for an investigation into the incident, expressing concern over the alleged prohibition of bringing water into the venue despite the high temperatures. He also highlighted Swift’s efforts to hand out water to fans, calling it absurd for an event of that magnitude.
