Jared Owili Otieno Killed in Attack Outside Homa Bay Supermarket; Three Suspects Arrested in Kasarani Robbery

A tragic incident occurred outside a supermarket in Homa Bay, resulting in the death of a rider. Eyewitnesses reported that a group of men got out of a car and launched an attack on the victim, identified as Jared Owili Otieno. After the assault, the attackers swiftly fled the scene in the same vehicle.

Emergency services rushed Otieno to Homabay County Teaching and Referral Hospital, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries. In a separate incident in Nairobi’s Kasarani area, a botched robbery mission led to the arrest of three suspects. Two men and a woman had hired a taxi intending to travel from Ruiru to Kilimani. However, during the journey, the occupants revealed their true intentions and attempted to rob the taxi driver.

At a crucial moment, one of the passengers brandished a pistol and demanded that the driver change course towards Githurai. Instead of complying, the quick-thinking driver accelerated and detoured towards Kasarani police station, alerting the authorities with his honking.

The police swiftly responded to the situation, giving chase to the three suspects who had disembarked at the police station’s entrance and were attempting to flee. The law enforcement officers successfully apprehended the suspects a short distance away. The subsequent search of their belongings yielded a homemade pistol, a pair of scissors, and a screwdriver.
