A teenage motorcycle rider was killed and another sustained critical injuries in a road accident that occurred in Hathajari Shikarpur union in Chattogram this afternoon. The deceased was identified as Israt Hossain Alvi, a 17-year-old student, while the injured is Ashraful Alam, a 14-year-old student. The accident took place around 3:30 PM on Friday (10 November) on Quaish-Oxygen road.
According to the police, the accident occurred due to reckless driving. The motorcycle, driven at high speed, hit a speed breaker at the Bella Baper Ghat point of the Kuwaish-Oxygen Road and fell into a roadside ditch. Local residents rushed to the scene and rescued the two teenagers, who were in critical condition, and took them to a nearby private hospital. Unfortunately, Alvi was declared dead by the doctor on duty, while Alam is currently fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit of Evercare Hospital.

Israt Hossain Alvi was a first-year HSC student, and Ashraful Alam is studying in the eighth grade at the Forest Research Institute School in the city. The tragic accident has left the community in shock and mourning.
