Rapid City Shooting Suspect, Charles Colhoff, Arrested and Facing Multiple Charges

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) – In a previous report, RCPD requested the public’s assistance in locating a shooting suspect responsible for causing serious injuries to a man on November 4. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. near North Maple Avenue and East Knollwood Drive.

The suspect involved in the shooting has been identified as Charles Colhoff, a 35-year-old resident of Rapid City.

Authorities successfully apprehended Colhoff during a traffic stop on November 9. Upon searching his vehicle, a loaded pistol was discovered under his seat. Colhoff was arrested for having an open container in a motor vehicle and possessing a firearm as a former violent offender. Additionally, he had active warrants for attempted murder, committing a felony with a firearm, and possessing a firearm with a previous felony drug conviction. Colhoff was subsequently transported to the Pennington County Jail.

Detectives are currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the shooting incident, working diligently to gather further evidence and information.
