A man has been charged with murder following a shooting spree on the New South Wales mid-north coast, which resulted in the discovery of a body in the area. The incident led to a large manhunt and the subsequent arrest of two individuals, Cory James Glass, 26, and a 32-year-old man in Kempsey. Additionally, a man was found dead with fatal gunshot wounds just outside Port Macquarie. Late on Friday, police confirmed that the older man, who had been under police guard in hospital, has been charged with murder and six firearm offences. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Sam Dieter Liszczak.
According to a police statement, it is alleged that the men had travelled together in a ute from Victoria before the older man fatally shot the 30-year-old following a dispute. The alleged killer has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear before the Kempsey local court on Saturday. In a separate court appearance, Glass faced six firearm offence charges related to the shooting spree. He did not apply for bail, and it was officially denied.

The shootings occurred in four different incidents along the Pacific Highway in the Manning-Great Lakes and Kempsey regions. During the incidents, a police vehicle was reportedly fired upon when attempting to stop the ute along Fernbank Creek Rd. Additionally, a motorist suffered a bullet graze in Coolongolook. Police believe that the shootings were not targeted and that four vehicles were affected.
To apprehend the alleged gunmen, a tactical team, multiple helicopters, and the dog squad were deployed during the search. The investigation into the shooting spree is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the motive behind the attacks.
