Police in Hudson have revealed that the gunman responsible for the tragic mass shootings in Lewiston, Maine, had threatened employees at a local bakery just six days prior. Robert Card, who was delivering bread for a company he worked for, had a confrontation with bakery employees on October 19th, according to Hudson Police Chief Tad Dionne.

Witnesses at the bakery reported that Card had made disturbing statements to them, saying, “Maybe you will be the ones I snap on.” He also allegedly made a comment that read, “I’m not gay or a pedophile, but just show me where the bread goes.”

However, the bakery employees did not immediately report the incident to the authorities. It was only after Card was publicly identified as the shooter responsible for the bar and bowling alley killings in Lewiston on October 25th that they came forward with the information.

Surprisingly, Card returned to the same bakery the day before the mass shootings for another delivery, but no threats were made during that visit. Chief Dionne believes that the employees did not take Card’s threats seriously at the time and simply brushed them off.

It was sometime between October 25th and 26th that the police department was notified of the incident with Card at the bakery. Officials promptly informed state authorities of the situation.

The tragic events in Lewiston, in which 18 innocent lives were lost, have left the community in shock and mourning. Investigations into the shooter’s background have revealed a court record that includes a prior arrest and divorce.
