Carbajal Valparaiso Killed in One-Vehicle Accident on US 59

A man from the Houston area died in a one-vehicle accident on US 59 at FM 1127 on Wednesday night. Carbajal Valparaiso was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, according to Sgt. Gary Wright of the San Jacinto County office of the Texas Department of Public Safety. The accident occurred around 10:56 p.m., just a mile north of Shepherd. Valparaiso was traveling northbound on US 59 when he failed to stay in a single lane. He veered into the east ditch, overcorrected, and rolled his vehicle multiple times. The force of the accident caused him to be ejected from the vehicle, resulting in his death.

Sgt. Wright, who is currently at the border, did not have information about the type of vehicle Valparaiso was driving or his age as he did not have a unit available that night. Troopers from Polk County were covering for the San Jacinto County office at the time of the accident. Valparaiso’s next of kin have been notified of the tragic incident.

Carbajal Valparaiso’s death occurred near the site of an earlier explosion that took place on the same day. The explosion, which had caused significant damage, happened just south of Shepherd. It is unclear if the explosion and the accident are related in any way.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather more information about the circumstances that led to the crash. The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of driving safely and staying focused on the road.
