Saluda County, South Carolina – A tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning as a fire engulfed a man’s home and business in Saluda County. The victim has been identified as 72-year-old Timothy Bruce Smith, a resident of Leesville.
The fire was reported around 3:30 a.m., and when fire crews arrived at the scene in the Circle area off Columbia Highway, they found the building already heavily engulfed in flames. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to save Smith from the blaze. He was airlifted to Prisma Health Richland’s trauma unit but succumbed to his injuries later that day.
