An elderly Jewish man was tragically murdered by a pro-Palestinian activist during a protest in Los Angeles, according to a report by the Jerusalem Post. Paul Kessler, 69, was waving an Israeli flag while countering a pro-Palestinian demonstration in California when he was struck on the head with a megaphone by a protester. Kessler was transported to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect, identified as Loay Alnaji, had reportedly killed before and has shared pro-Hamas content on social media. The Daily Mail reported that Alnaji had a previous conviction for murder in Dubai, which was later reduced to manslaughter after he paid compensation to the victim’s family. He was subsequently released from prison. StopAntisemitism, a prominent Jewish group, shared footage alleging that Alnaji had also expressed support for the Hamas terrorist group.

The investigation into Kessler’s murder is ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out the possibility of a hate crime. Eyewitnesses have provided conflicting accounts of the altercation, and investigators have expressed frustration over the lack of recorded evidence of the attack.

Jonathan Oswaks, who attended the protest with Kessler, expressed his frustration with the lack of arrests, stating that the suspect was sitting right there on the curb when deputies arrived.

This tragic incident highlights the ongoing tensions between pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian groups and the potential for violence during demonstrations. The Jewish community has condemned the murder, calling for the suspect to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case and is working to gather more evidence to bring justice for Paul Kessler’s death.
