A graduating student of the Philippine College of Criminology died from hazing-related injuries sustained during the initiation rites of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity. Two members of the fraternity have admitted to conducting the hazing initiation. Four fraternity members have been arrested, and police are searching for 10 others involved.

A tragic incident occurred on Monday evening at the Philippine College of Criminology, resulting in the death of a graduating student. Ahldryn Lery Chua Bravante, a 25-year-old fourth-year student from Imus, Cavite, allegedly sustained fatal injuries during the initiation rites of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity.

According to the initial police investigation, two members of the fraternity confessed to conducting the hazing initiation on Bravante. The initiation took place in an abandoned building on Sto. Domingo Avenue in Quezon City. The neophyte suffered bruises, burns, and bite marks on various parts of his body, indicating the severity of the hazing rituals.

After the hazing activity, Bravante experienced difficulty breathing and eventually lost consciousness. Two fraternity members rushed him to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival. Shockingly, Bravante’s father revealed that his son never mentioned his involvement in the initiation rites.

In response to this tragic incident, two Tau Gamma Phi members involved in Bravante’s death have been arrested, while two others voluntarily surrendered to the Philippine National Police. All four fraternity members are now in the custody of the Quezon City police. Authorities are currently searching for 10 other individuals connected to Bravante’s hazing-related death.

During the investigation, the police discovered the paddle used to injure Bravante in a nearby river. However, the abandoned building where the initiation rites allegedly took place only contained empty bottles of water.

This heartbreaking incident sheds light on the dangers of hazing and the urgent need for stricter regulations and enforcement to prevent such tragedies from happening. Hazing has long been a contentious issue, and it is crucial for educational institutions and society as a whole to take a strong stance against this harmful practice.

The death of Ahldryn Lery Chua Bravante serves as a reminder of the need for increased awareness and education about the consequences of hazing. It is essential to create a safe and inclusive environment for all students, free from any form of violence or harm..
