Dr. Mankombu Sambasivan Swaminathan, popularly known as M. S. Swaminathan, was a renowned Indian scientist and agricultural expert. Born on August 7, 1925, in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, he dedicated his life to revolutionizing agriculture and played a pivotal role in transforming India into a self-sufficient nation in terms of food production. Dr. Swaminathan’s remarkable work in the field of agricultural science earned him the title of the “Father of India’s Green Revolution.”
