Monika Gunn was a dedicated and compassionate officer who served the Pismo Beach community with unwavering commitment. Born and raised in Pismo Beach, Monika had a deep-rooted connection to the community she served. She was a graduate of Pismo Beach High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from a local university. Monika joined the Pismo Beach Police Department in 2008 and quickly rose through the ranks due to her exceptional work ethic and dedication to her job.
At this time, the cause of Monika’s untimely death remains unknown. The news of her passing has left her family, friends, and colleagues in shock and disbelief. As we come to terms with this tragic loss, the Pismo Beach PD will be providing support and resources to Monika’s loved ones and fellow officers as they navigate through this difficult period of grief and mourning.
