Two Men Arrested for July Armed Robbery; Victim Identified as Deceased

Three men have been arrested in Santa Maria, California, with two of them connected to an armed robbery. The arrests were made during a search and arrest warrant action, where evidence related to the robbery, illegal pills, and cash were found. Three Arrested in Santa Maria for Armed Robbery and Drug Sales

In a recent development, three individuals have been apprehended by the Santa Maria Police Department (SMPD) in connection with an armed robbery that took place in July of this year. Additionally, one of the suspects was arrested for drug sales during the execution of a search warrant.

Violent Robbery Incident

The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, when two armed individuals targeted a business near the intersection of Battles and Blosser Road, according to SMPD sources. The victim present at the scene was subjected to physical assault and threats by the two culprits, who have been identified as a pair of brothers aged 20 and 19, hailing from Santa Maria.

Successful Police Operation

On Tuesday, September 5, at 8:30 a.m., SMPD’s Detective Bureau, in collaboration with the SMPD Patrol Bureau and the FBI Safe Streets Taskforce, conducted a search and arrest warrant operation in the 900 block of W. Harding Avenue and the 1200 block of W. Sonya Lane. As a result, both the brothers involved in the armed robbery were apprehended.

Drug Sales Uncovered

During the execution of the warrants, law enforcement officers encountered a 21-year-old male individual, who was subsequently arrested for drug sales. SMPD officials have disclosed that a search of the two residences led to the discovery of evidence related to the initial robbery. The search also uncovered three handguns, including two un-serialized ghost guns, approximately 270 illegal pills suspected to be opioids, and around $6,000 in cash.

Furthermore, the 21-year-old suspect arrested for drug sales was found to be in possession of 178 illegal pills, suspected to be opioids, with an estimated street value of $4,000 as determined by SMPD.

Legal Consequences

SMPD has shared that the brothers involved in the armed robbery have been booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on outstanding warrants for robbery with a gang enhancement. Each suspect is being held on $1 million bail, and the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office has been recommended to file multiple other charges related to drug and firearm possession against them.

Similarly, the 21-year-old individual arrested for drug sales has also been booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on charges related to his unlawful activities.
