Country music superstar Dierks Bentley performed his latest chart-topping hit, “Gold,” at the CMA Fest. The song, co-written by Bentley, Luke Dick, Ross Copperman, Trent Dabbs, and Ashley Gorley, reached No.1 on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart in May. Bentley’s performance was part of his hosting duties at the festival. The song is part of Bentley’s 10th studio album, “Gravel & Gold,” which celebrates his 20-year career and showcases his diverse musical influences. The CMA Fest, hosted by Bentley, Elle King, and Lainey Wilson, featured performances from some of Country Music’s biggest stars.

Dierks Bentley’s “Gold”: A Song About Life’s Journey

The song’s chorus, “I got some rust on my Chevy, but it’s ready to roll / I got a rhinestone sky and a song in my soul / It ain’t a smooth ride, life, it’s a winding road / Yeah, it might be gravel, but it feels like gold,” encapsulates Bentley’s message of appreciating the journey, despite its challenges. Bentley co-wrote “Gold” with Luke Dick, Ross Copperman, Trent Dabbs, and Ashley Gorley. The song reached the top spot on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart in May, marking Bentley’s 22nd No.1 hit.

“Gold” is one of 14 tracks on Bentley’s 10th studio album, Gravel & Gold. The album celebrates Bentley’s 20-year career and showcases his wide range of musical influences.

CMA Fest 2023: The Music Event of Summer

The CMA Fest, hosted by Dierks Bentley, Elle King, and Lainey Wilson, aired on ABC on July 19. The three-hour special featured over 30 performances and surprise collaborations from country music’s biggest stars, including Alabama, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, and more. The festival, which marked its 50th anniversary, was a record-breaking celebration in Nashville from June 8 to June 11.

50th Anniversary of CMA Fest: A Milestone Celebration

The four-day event saw a 12% increase in daily attendance from the previous year, with over 90,000 attendees each day. Nightly concerts at the Nissan Stadium also saw a 10% growth from 2022. The festival welcomed fans from all 50 states and a record-breaking 51 countries.

As we’ve spent the past year reflecting on this milestone celebration, one theme has persisted—the incredible connection between country music fans and the artists,” shared Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “We only get the chance to celebrate our 50th anniversary once, and to do so in such an impactful way has meant the world to us. Over 300 Acts at CMA Fest 2023

More than 300 acts took part in the CMA Fest this year, with performances across various stages, including the Chevy Riverfront Stage, Dr. Pepper Amp Stage, Chevy Vibes Stage, Maui Jim Reverb Stage, and the Hard Rock Stage. The festival also featured Fan Fair X inside the Music City Center.

With its record-breaking attendance and star-studded performances, the 50th anniversary of the CMA Fest was indeed a golden celebration of country music.
