With profound sorrow, we announce the tragic passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Elise Dione Finch Henriques. Elise had been an integral part of the WCBS team for 16 years. Starting as our weekend meteorologist in 2007, she had recently been a familiar face on the morning news alongside Mary Calvi and Chris Wragge. In September, Elise joined Cindy Hsu on the 9 a.m. newscast, where she continued to shine.
Elise was a highly skilled and dedicated professional and a shining beacon of positivity in our community, particularly in her hometown of Mount Vernon.

She frequently mentioned her birthplace, Mount Vernon, and her alma mater, Mount Vernon High School, during her broadcasts. Elise graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University and was honored with the prestigious President’s Award. She later earned a Master of Science in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University, further solidifying her expertise in the field.
