Hey there! So, there's been some pretty heavy news coming out of Rocky Hill, Connecticut. On Friday night, a tragic accident took place on Interstate 91 South, near exit 23, involving three vehicles. State police responded to the scene at around 8:48 p.m., where they found a multi-vehicle crash that sadly claimed a life and left several others injured.<br />

The unfortunate victim was Jada Upshaw, a 26-year-old from Bloomfield, who was driving a Nissan Versa S. After the crash, she was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The collision began when a BMW 328xi, driven by 23-year-old Jacob Texidor from Ellington, swerved from the left lane into the left center lane, striking Jada's Nissan. The impact caused both vehicles to roll over, with the Nissan then hitting a GMC Terrain SLT in the right lane.<br />

There were also minor injuries reported for the passenger in the Nissan, as well as the driver and passenger of the GMC. All were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. As for the BMW driver, Jacob Texidor, authorities believe he was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs at the time of the crash. He has been arrested on a DUI charge and released on a $50,000 bond. Jacob is expected to appear in New Britain Superior Court on October 25.<br />
