Charette, the operator of the electric bike, was involved in a collision with a gray 2017 Dodge Caravan driven by 37-year-old Ian Bourgoin of St Francis.

Despite Charette’s valiant effort to avoid the crash by dumping his bike, he ultimately slid into Bourgoin’s vehicle, sustaining serious injuries in the process. Charette, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, was rushed to Northern Maine Medical Center and listed in critical condition.
