Upon returning to Lake Charles, Dr. Stevens made a lasting impact as the Associate Pathologist and Director of the School of Medical Technology at St. Patrick Hospital. He also founded The Pathology Laboratory, a private clinical lab in Lake Charles, where he served as Director and CEO for over four decades.

Dr. Stevens’ influence extended to hospitals across Southwest Louisiana, including CHRISTUS St. Patrick, West Calcasieu-Cameron, and Beauregard Memorial Hospitals. Additionally, he served as Deputy Coroner and Medical Examiner for Calcasieu Parish for twenty years.

Dr. Stevens is survived by his loving family and is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Betty Ann Scheib Stevens. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 30 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Lake Charles.
