Subsequently, a Jeep with matching front-end damage was spotted a mile away, near Minnehaha Avenue and Frank Street. The erratic driving of the vehicle caught the attention of law enforcement, leading to the discovery of Johnson in the backseat, critically injured from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Johnson’s friend, who was with him during the marijuana deal, recounted the harrowing experience to authorities. He revealed that a man they had connected with on Facebook Messenger had arranged to buy marijuana from them at the Wilson Avenue location.
