Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Tragic Accident Claims Two Lives in El Paso

Last week, tragedy struck in the Lower Valley of El Paso, Texas, when a fire claimed the lives of two individuals. The El Paso Fire Department has confirmed that the incident was accidental, with the cause being attributed to smoking in combination with an ‘oxygen-generating machine’ inside the house. Shockingly, there were no working smoke detectors in the house at the time of the fire.

The fire occurred at 7650 Barton Street, where fire crews responded promptly and were able to contain the flames. The victims, a woman in her 70s and a man in his 80s, tragically lost their lives in the blaze. Their identities have not yet been released to the public.

Importance of Smoke Alarms

The El Paso Fire Department is urging residents to prioritize fire safety by ensuring they have working smoke alarms in their homes. Smoke alarms play a crucial role in alerting individuals to fires early on, giving them valuable time to evacuate safely. EPFD offers free smoke alarms, along with installation services. To request a smoke alarm, residents can call 311 or visit the EPFD website.
