A tragic incident unfolded in Santa Ana on Sunday morning, resulting in the death of a 26-year-old man after an altercation with his roommate. The incident took place in the 1500 block of S. Lowell Street at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Discovery of the Victim

Upon responding to an emergency call, the Santa Ana Police Department discovered William Stephen Nared suffering from a stab wound to his chest. Despite the efforts of the Orange County Fire Authority to provide medical aid, Nared was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrest of the Suspect

The focus of the investigation quickly shifted to the roommate, identified as 25-year-old David James Espinosa, who had fled the scene on a bike after the altercation. Authorities were able to locate and apprehend Espinosa a short distance away.

Details of the Altercation

According to the Santa Ana PD, Espinosa and Nared shared the same living unit. The argument between the two escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the fatal stabbing of Nared. Espinosa has since been booked and charged with murder.
