The village of Muslim Chapari was shaken by the unexpected visit of the elephant, who was on a mission to find food.

Details of the Incident

Tasmina Khatun, a 28-year-old woman, met with a fatal end as she stepped out of her house for some errands. The wild elephant, coming all the way from Bura Chapari Wildlife Sanctuary in Sonitpur, found its way to the village in search of paddy grains. Sadly, Tasmina became a victim of this animal-human conflict and lost her life on the spot.

Forest Department’s Response

Upon receiving the distressing news, a team from the forest department rushed to the scene to assess the situation. The body of the deceased was sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. Meanwhile, the grief-stricken villagers demanded fair compensation for the family of Tasmina.
