Ludhiana: In a shocking turn of events, a man and his son were apprehended from the Jagraon area for the murder of a youth over a mere Rs 200 at the old Grain Market of Jagraon on Monday, as confirmed by a police official. The individuals responsible for this heinous crime have been identified as 22-year-old Lavish Kumar, a resident of Mohalla Misrian in Nehru Market, and his father, Balram alias Pandit, who hails originally from Uttar Pradesh.
According to ASI Gurcharan Singh, Lavish, who is employed at a grocery store in the Grain Market, had a financial dispute with the victim, 20-year-old Shamsher Singh Gopi from Karnail Gate in Jagraon. Shamsher, who worked as a porter in the same market, was embroiled in a dispute with Lavish over money that escalated into a tragic incident.
Reports suggest that the altercation between Lavish and Shamsher began during a gambling session on Sunday night, where Lavish accused Shamsher of stealing his money.
