Muzaffarnagar Tragedy: Two Laborers Die Due to Asphyxiation
Tragedy struck in the streets of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, as two laborers lost their lives while cleaning a sewer line in the Nagar Kotwali area. The incident, which occurred on Monday, April 22, claimed the lives of Shamim, a 62-year-old resident of Khalapar, and Wajid, a 27-year-old resident of Gahrbagh.
Details of the Incident
According to officials, the two laborers were engaged in cleaning the sewer line when they succumbed to asphyxiation after the manhole lid closed on them. Local residents who heard their cries for help rushed to the scene and initiated a rescue operation to retrieve the workers.
Upon alerting the authorities and calling for an ambulance, the police arrived at the location and managed to transport both victims to the district hospital. Despite efforts to save them, both Shamim and Wajid tragically passed away during treatment.

The victims of the Maharashtra incident were identified as Manikrao Govind Kale, Sandeep Manik Kale, Anil Bapurao Kale, Vishal Anil Kale, and Babasaheb Pawar. In response to this incident, the police issued an advisory urging people to take precautions and secure unused wells to prevent such accidents in the future.
