Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Discovery of Bodies in Gaza Hospitals

Recent reports have emerged detailing a shocking discovery of bodies in Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, central Gaza, and Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. The bodies, numbering 283 in total, were found buried deep in the ground and covered with waste. Among the deceased were older people, women, and wounded individuals, some of whom were found tied with their hands tied and stripped of their clothes, according to Ravina Shamdasani, spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Al-Shifa Hospital Unveiled

Al-Shifa Hospital, the main tertiary facility in the enclave before the outbreak of war, was the focus of an Israeli military incursion to root out alleged Hamas militants. The intense clashes culminated in the devastation of the hospital, with most equipment reduced to ashes. Reports suggest that 30 Palestinian bodies were buried in two graves within the hospital complex, with 12 individuals identified so far. Shamdasani highlighted the possibility of many more victims, despite the IDF’s claim of killing 200 Palestinians during the operation.

200 Days of Horror

After 200 days of intense Israeli bombardment in response to Hamas-led attacks, UN human rights chief Volker Türk expressed horror at the destruction of Nasser and Al-Shifa hospitals. The deliberate targeting of civilians, detainees, and others who are hors de combat constitutes a war crime, prompting calls for independent investigations into the deaths.

Mounting Casualty Figures

As of 22 April, over 34,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, including thousands of children and women. Additionally, more than 77,000 individuals have been injured, with thousands potentially still trapped under rubble. The disproportionate impact on children, who are protected under the laws of war, underscores the urgent need for intervention.

Türk’s Warning

Volker Türk reiterated warnings against a full-scale Israeli incursion of Rafah, where over a million Gazans are reportedly trapped. Recent Israeli strikes in Rafah have claimed the lives of numerous civilians, including women and children, prompting condemnation from the international community.

Settler Attacks in West Bank

Grave human rights violations persist in the West Bank, with reports of massive settler attacks facilitated by the Israeli Security Forces. A recent operation in Nur Shams refugee camp resulted in the deaths of several Palestinians, including children, amidst allegations of unlawful killings and extrajudicial executions by the ISF.
