The coroner’s office in Aliquippa, Beaver County, has identified the body found inside an abandoned building last week as that of Ri’Kiah Griffie, a 25-year-old resident of Aliquippa. Coroner David Gabauer has chosen not to disclose any additional details at this time as the investigation by state police is ongoing.
Discovery of Human Remains
Last Thursday, human remains were discovered inside a building in Aliquippa, Beaver County. Aliquippa police made the find based on information they received and immediately called in Pennsylvania State Police for assistance. The area on Fifth Avenue near Sheffield Street was cordoned off with yellow caution tape and police cars as investigators spent hours gathering evidence at the abandoned collapsed structure where the remains were found.
Family’s Concern
During the investigation, a man who preferred not to be interviewed on camera expressed his fear that the remains belonged to his adult granddaughter, who had been missing for a couple of years. The district attorney’s office and the coroner’s office are both involved in the investigation, but details of their findings have not been released. It has been confirmed, however, that the remains had been at the location for quite some time.
