Tragic Traffic Collision Claims Lives of Two Indian Students near Lake Pleasant

On a fateful evening in Arizona, near the serene Lake Pleasant, a tragic incident unfolded that shook the local community. Two young Indian students, Nivesh Mukka and Goutham Parsi, lost their lives in a devastating traffic collision that occurred on April 20, around 6:18 pm.

Details of the Incident

The fatal collision took place on Castle Hot Springs Road, just north of State Route 74, involving two vehicles: a white 2024 Kia Forte and a red 2022 Ford F150. The preliminary investigation by the Peoria Police revealed that the driver of the red F150 was travelling southbound on Castle Hot Springs Road, while the white Kia Forte was heading northbound.

Tragically, the collision resulted in the untimely deaths of Nivesh Mukka and Goutham Parsi, both 19 years old and hailing from India. The white Kia Forte had three occupants, with the two other passengers succumbing to their injuries at the scene.

Following the heartbreaking incident, the Arizona State University has mobilized its International Students and Scholars Centre to provide support to the friends, roommates, and student groups of the victims. The university’s dean of students, counselling services, and housing representatives are working diligently to offer any necessary assistance during this difficult time.

As the community mourns the loss of these promising young individuals, the police continue their investigation into the cause of the collision. The sole occupant of the red F150, who sustained serious injuries in the crash, has since been released from the hospital.
