Two young Indian students, 19-year-old Nivesh Mukka and 19-year-old Goutham Parsi, tragically lost their lives in a devastating traffic collision near Lake Pleasant in Arizona. The incident, which took place on April 20, has left the international student community in shock and mourning.

Details of the Accident

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 6:18 pm on Castle Hot Springs Road, just north of State Route 74. The Peoria Police responded to the scene of the accident, which involved two vehicles – a white 2024 Kia Forte and a red 2022 Ford F150.

Initial investigations suggest that the driver of the red F150 was heading southbound on Castle Hot Springs Road, while the white Kia Forte was travelling northbound. The exact cause of the collision is still under investigation by the authorities.

The red F150 had one occupant who sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. Fortunately, the occupant has since been released from the hospital. However, the white Kia Forte had three occupants, with the driver also sustaining serious injuries but recovering after treatment. Tragically, Nivesh Mukka and Goutham Parsi succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident.

Following the devastating news, Arizona State University has mobilized its International Students and Scholars Centre to provide support to the friends, roommates, and student groups of the victims. The university, along with the dean of students, counselling services, and housing representatives, aims to offer any necessary assistance to those affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.
