The Tragic Accident Near Lake Pleasant, Arizona

Two Indian students, Nivesh Mukka and Goutham Parsi, met with a fatal accident in a head-on collision near Lake Pleasant in Arizona. The young men, both 19 years old and hailing from Telangana, were enrolled as international students at Arizona State University.

The incident took place on Castle Hot Springs Road, just north of State Route 74. The collision involved two vehicles – a white 2024 Kia Forte and a red 2022 Ford F150 – that collided head-on, resulting in the tragic deaths of Mukka and Parsi.

Peoria Police responded to the report of the collision around 6:18 pm on April 20. The area was closed for several hours during the investigation, causing disruptions in normal traffic flow. However, the road was reopened for regular traffic the following morning.

Details of the Collision

According to preliminary investigations, the driver of the red F150 was travelling southbound on Castle Hot Springs Road, while the white Kia Forte was heading northbound. The impact of the collision led to the immediate deaths of Mukka and Parsi, while the occupants of both vehicles sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the car carrying the two Indian students was rushed to a local hospital with severe injuries but has since been released. Similarly, the driver of the other vehicle, who was the sole occupant, also received treatment for injuries and has been discharged.

Support and Assistance

The Peoria Police Department expressed condolences to the families of the victims and appreciated the efforts of everyone involved in providing aid during the tragic incident. Arizona State University’s International Students and Scholars Centre, along with other support services, are offering assistance to the student groups, friends, and roommates of the deceased.
