LGED engineer tragically killed in Manikganj road accident

MANIKGANJ, April 23, 2024 (BSS) – A devastating incident struck the town of Manikganj today as a sub-assistant engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) lost his life in a tragic road accident. The unfortunate event took place on the Beuth road right in front of the district LGED office, sending shockwaves through the community.

The victim, identified as Md. Abdul Mozid, aged 55 and son of Abul Hashem Matabbar, hailed from Uthuli under Shibalaya upazila of the district. He was dedicated to his work and was employed as a sub-assistant engineer at the Ghior upazila of LGED.

The heart-wrenching accident unfolded around 7.30 am when a speeding motorbike collided with a rickshaw, resulting in severe injuries to Mozid, who was a passenger on the rickshaw. Local residents rushed to his aid, swiftly transporting him to Manikganj Sadar Hospital. Despite their efforts, Mozid succumbed to his injuries, leaving a void in the community.

Reports indicate that Mozid was on his way back home in Manikganj town after a routine trip to Beuth Bazar when the tragic accident occurred, bringing a promising life to an abrupt end.

Manikganj Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge, Md. Habil Hossain, has verified the authenticity of the incident, further highlighting the somber reality faced by the community.
