Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Two individuals are facing serious charges in connection with a cold case that dates back to 2008 in New Jersey. Breyon Goodman, aged 36, and Jason Howard, aged 41, have been identified as suspects in the robbery and fatal beating of Leroy Julious from Ewing Township, as confirmed by prosecutors.

The Attorney General, Matthew J. Platkin, expressed relief that after 16 years, the case of Leroy Julious has not been forgotten. The charges brought against Goodman and Howard are hoped to provide some solace to the victim’s family and friends.

Arrests and Charges

Both Goodman and Howard have been charged with murder, first-degree murder, and robbery. Goodman was taken into custody on April 15, while Howard is currently serving time in a prison in Rhode Island for an unrelated incident and was arraigned on the charges there.

Details of the Robbery

The incident took place on May 9, 2008, in Ewing, New Jersey. Police responded to a call and found Leroy Julious injured and bleeding on the ground. Witnesses reported a car parked in front of a home with several individuals present, including Jason Howard.

Julious was discovered with severe head trauma and blood on his face, head, and neck. His pockets were found turned inside out, indicating a robbery had taken place. Sadly, Julious was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation and Breakthrough

Authorities determined that robbery was the motive behind the attack on Leroy Julious. It was noted that Julious was known to carry money in his wallet, which was missing when he was found. The assault is believed to have occurred in a nearby garage before Julious was dragged to the gravel lot.

After the case went cold for over a decade, new information came to light, leading to the reopening of the investigation. In the autumn of 2023, advancements in technology allowed for a re-examination of physical evidence, yielding crucial new information for the case.
