Details of the Shooting Incident in Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has identified the victim of a recent shooting near Garden of the Gods Road as 55-year-old Jason Bales. The incident took place on Thursday, April 18, in the 4200 block of Sinton Road, located near Garden of the Gods Rd. and I-25.

Response by Authorities

Upon receiving a call about shots being fired around 11:45 p.m., officers from the CSPD rushed to the scene. They found Mr. Bales with life-threatening injuries and immediately transported him to the hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

While the El Paso County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of Mr. Bales’ death, CSPD is treating the incident as a homicide. As of Tuesday, April 23, no suspects have been taken into custody, and detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
