Manhunt for Ex-Cop Accused of Double Homicide and Abduction

A manhunt is currently underway in Washington state for Elias Huizar, a former Yakima police officer accused of committing a double homicide and abducting a 1-year-old boy. The West Richland Police Department has issued a warning that Huizar is armed, dangerous, and likely to commit further crimes.

Deadly Violence Unfolds at Wiley Elementary School

The first homicide took place at Wiley Elementary School in West Richland, where Huizar allegedly shot and killed a paraeducator as students were being dismissed for the day. The school immediately went into lockdown, and the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Discovery of Second Victim

Following the school shooting, authorities discovered the body of another woman at Huizar’s home. While the names of the victims have not been released, they are believed to be Huizar’s ex-wife and girlfriend.

Abduction of Toddler

An Amber Alert was issued for 1-year-old Roman Huizar, who is believed to be the son of the suspect. Authorities suspect that Huizar absconded with the toddler in a silver 2009 Toyota Corolla with Washington plates CBZ474 and may be attempting to flee to the Mexico border.

Past Criminal Allegations Against Huizar

In February, Huizar was arrested for raping a teenage girl at his home in West Richland. Court documents revealed that the assault occurred after a night of drinking with the girl and his 17-year-old girlfriend, who is Roman’s mother. Following the incident, Huizar was arrested on rape charges but posted bail the same evening.

Search for Huizar

Authorities are urging anyone who sees Elias Huizar to immediately contact 911. He is described as 5-foot-6, 170 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. The investigation into the double homicide and abduction is ongoing as law enforcement works to locate the suspect and ensure the safety of the abducted child.
