Tragic Accident in Brenham, Texas Claims Second Life

A devastating incident unfolded in Brenham, Texas, earlier this month when a stolen 18-wheeler crashed into a driver’s license office, resulting in the tragic loss of two lives. The latest victim, identified as Cheryl Turner, 63, of Brenham, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Victims Identified

The first fatality was announced as Bobby Huff, 78, following the April 12 tragedy. Additionally, a third individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, is currently in critical but stable condition in the hospital, as confirmed by DPS spokesperson Sgt. Justin Ruiz.

Driver Arrested

The driver of the stolen truck, 42-year-old Clenard Parker, emerged unscathed from the collision and was promptly arrested at the scene. Reports indicate that Parker had been denied a commercial driver’s license at the same Brenham DPS office the day prior to the crash. Fleeing from pursuing deputies, Parker found himself at the center of the catastrophic incident.

Legal Ramifications

As of Tuesday morning, Washington County Jail records revealed that Parker is facing a murder charge, along with five counts of aggravated assault. He remains in custody, with bail set at $4 million. The Washington County District Attorney’s Office is currently assessing the situation to determine if the second fatality will result in upgraded charges against Parker, according to Sgt. Ruiz.

Legal Counsel Response

CNN has attempted to reach out to Parker’s legal representation for comment on the unfolding events and the charges brought against him.

CNN’s Rosa Flores, Sara Weisfeldt, Joe Sutton, and Sara Smart have all contributed to the coverage of this tragic incident.
