In a span of less than an hour and a half, three shootings occurred in different areas of north St. Louis City, resulting in two fatalities and one person injured. The victims, all in their 20s, were targeted in separate incidents, with no suspects currently in custody for any of the cases.

Violence Strikes Different Neighborhoods

The first incident took place on the 4400 block of Elmbank in the Greater Ville neighborhood, where a 21-year-old man was found shot multiple times in his car. Tragically, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly after, another shooting occurred at Hamilton and Cote Brilliante in the Wells Goodfellow neighborhood, where a 27-year-old man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Despite medical efforts, he was also pronounced dead.

Just before 10 p.m., a third shooting occurred on Carter and Shreve in the Penrose neighborhood, resulting in a 26-year-old woman being shot in the leg. Fortunately, she was conscious and breathing when transported to the hospital.

City Continues to Grapple with Violence

These incidents add to the growing number of homicides in St. Louis City, with at least 48 reported so far this year. Last year at this time, there were 44 murders in the city, highlighting the ongoing issue of gun violence that continues to plague the community.
