Family Members Suspected of Killing Man Over Business Dispute
Family members in Namayiba village, Nakisunga sub county in Mukono district have been implicated in the brutal killing of a man they suspected of trying to take over the business of his deceased associate.
Details of the Incident
The incident, which occurred at Trust Clinic in Namayiba, unfolded during a meeting convened by family members of the late Ronald, who had passed away earlier in the week. The meeting was intended to distribute the deceased’s assets, but tensions escalated when Paul Malinde asserted his claims over certain properties.
According to Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, a fight erupted during the meeting, resulting in Malinde being brutally beaten to death by enraged attendees who suspected his involvement in his business associate’s demise.
Discovery of the Body
Malinde’s body was found lying along Mukono Katosi Road with fresh abrasions on his hands and chest. Severe wounds to his head and face, inflicted by a blunt object, indicated the brutality of the attack. Stones, suspected to be stained with blood, were found near the body, alongside a jean blue pair of trousers, a green cap, and a black belt.
Investigations revealed signs of struggle at the entrance of Trust Clinic, located approximately 500 meters from the crime scene. The deceased, identified as an employee of the clinic, was implicated in the chaos surrounding the distribution of assets as one of the owners.
Police Response and Investigation
Police responded to the incident and arrested two suspects to aid in the investigation. The deceased’s body was examined, swabbed, and transferred to City Mortuary Mulago for autopsy.
The shocking turn of events has left the community in disbelief as they grapple with the tragic loss of life and the implications of the violent confrontation that took place at Trust Clinic.
