Tragic Accident in Elkhart Leaves One Dead and Another Critical

In the early hours of Sunday morning, a devastating accident occurred in Elkhart, Indiana, resulting in the death of one man and leaving another in critical condition. The incident took place near the intersection of W. Indiana Avenue and Benham Avenue, where an SUV collided with a light pole.

The Elkhart Police Department responded to the scene around 2:30 a.m. and discovered two men trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters were called to assist in extracting the individuals from the SUV, and both were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Tragically, the front seat passenger, identified as 32-year-old Montrell Curtis of Elkhart, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver, a 27-year-old Elkhart man, remains in critical condition, fighting for his life.
