The incident occurred at the intersection of Columbia and College roads, where 27-year-old Makenna Morse tragically lost her life. The Ingham County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene on Sunday afternoon, following reports of a collision involving two vehicles.

According to officials, a 21-year-old man from Lansing was driving one of the vehicles and was travelling south on College Rd when he failed to yield at the intersection with Columbia Rd. The impact of the collision resulted in both Morse and her 3-year-old daughter being transferred to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Tragically, Morse succumbed to her injuries, while her daughter is currently receiving treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The 21-year-old driver was also taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. Police have confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
