An incident that took place in the early hours of Saturday morning at a residence on the Ochapowace First Nation has left a community in shock. The incident resulted in the tragic loss of a male individual and the subsequent arrest of another.

According to a news release from the Saskatchewan RCMP, the Broadview detachment received a call for assistance from EMS at approximately 6:45 a.m. on April 20. Upon arrival, they discovered an injured male, identified as 32-year-old Elias Still from the Ochapowace First Nation, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The death was deemed suspicious, prompting Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes to take over the investigation.

During the course of the investigation, 32-year-old Dustyn Allary, also from the Ochapowace First Nation, was arrested at the scene in connection to the incident. Allary was charged with second-degree murder and made an appearance in Yorkton Provincial Court on Monday.

The Ochapowace First Nation, located in southeastern Saskatchewan, is a close-knit community that is now grappling with the aftermath of this tragic event. The loss of Elias Still has left a void in the hearts of many, while the arrest of Dustyn Allary has raised questions and concerns within the community.
