Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Second Victim Dies in Stolen Big Rig Crash in Brenham, Texas

A tragic incident unfolded earlier this month when a driver plowed a stolen big rig into a Texas Department of Public Safety office in Brenham, Texas. The shocking incident has now claimed the lives of two individuals, with the most recent victim identified as 63-year-old Cheryl Turner of Brenham.

The driver, Clenard Parker, 42, remains in jail facing nine charges, including murder, criminal mischief, and aggravated assault. The incident occurred after Parker was denied a commercial driver’s license renewal, prompting him to steal the 18-wheeler and crash it intentionally into the DPS office.

Bobby Huff, 78, was another victim of the crash and sadly passed away at the hospital. Turner and Huff were among three victims hospitalized following the incident, with the third victim’s condition still uncertain.

Charges and Investigation

Initially, Parker faced five charges, but four new charges were filed last week, leading to an increase in his bond to $4 million. Authorities are considering whether to upgrade Parker’s charges in light of the second victim’s death.

Law enforcement caught up with Parker in Brenham after he stole the big rig from a gas station in Chappell Hill. Following a brief pursuit, Parker turned the vehicle into the DPS office, causing significant damage and loss of life.

Office Closure and Ongoing Investigation

The Brenham Driver License Office will remain closed for an undetermined period, with alternative offices available in nearby Bryan, Hempstead, and Caldwell. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities working to gather more information and ensure justice for the victims.

The community of Brenham is mourning the loss of Cheryl Turner and Bobby Huff, as they come to terms with the shocking events that unfolded in their town. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased during this difficult time.
