In a devastating turn of events, a fire broke out in Bamfikot Rural Municipality-3 of Rukum Pachim, claiming the life of a 70-year-old woman named Budi Kami. The incident occurred when the fire spread from the nearby Dharpakha community forest to the Neupane village, engulfing three houses in flames.
The houses belonging to Yubaraj BK, Annate Sarki, and Budi Kami in Nepal Tole were completely destroyed in the blaze that erupted around 2:30 pm. Ward Chairman Tilbir KC revealed that Kami tragically lost her life while attempting to salvage her belongings from the approaching fire.
The fire not only consumed the homes but also ravaged the food supplies, clothing, and utensils stored inside. What initially started in the Dharpakha Community Forest has now spread to the Bhirikhola Community Forest and Saikumari Community Forest, posing a grave threat to the surrounding area.
Local authorities, including the forest users group, Bamfikot police office, and concerned residents, are working tirelessly to contain the rapidly spreading fire. The community is coming together to combat the flames and prevent further destruction of property and wildlife.
