Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault in Linda Vista Home
In a disturbing incident that has shocked the Linda Vista community, a 22-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a home and sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl. The incident took place in a residence on Wellington Street, near Kearny High School, which is Navy housing in the area.
Arrest Made After Suspect Spotted Drinking Beer
The suspect, identified as Alejandro Jose Confesor, was apprehended by police officers who spotted him drinking a beer on Linda Vista Road north of Glidden Road. The arrest took place around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday night, less than two miles from the location of the assault.
Multiple Incidents at the Same Home
The initial assault occurred around 1:45 a.m. on Thursday when the man gained access to the home through an unlocked door, assaulted the child, and then fled the scene. Three days later, a man resembling the suspect attempted to break into the garage and side yard of the same home, but was unsuccessful in gaining entry.
Close Match to Suspect Description
Security camera footage from the attempted break-in on Sunday morning showed a man closely matching the description of the assailant from the initial assault. While investigators could not confirm if it was the same person, the similarities were striking.
Charges Against the Suspect
Alejandro Jose Confesor has been arrested on suspicion of charges including lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 with force and assault with intent to commit rape or other sex acts during residential burglary. San Diego police are urging anyone with information about the incidents to come forward.
