A tragic incident unfolded in Yerawada as a hotelier, Vicky Raju Chandalia, succumbed to his injuries after being shot at by a notorious history sheeter. The 31-year-old resident of Jay Jawan Nagar in Yerwada was running a hotel near Agrasen High School when the unfortunate incident took place.

Skirmish with History Sheeter

According to police reports, Vicky had a confrontation with a history sheeter named Akash Chandalia a few days prior to the incident. On a fateful night, Akash and his accomplices arrived at Vicky’s hotel around 1 am, demanding money from him. When Vicky refused, Akash fired two bullets at him, one of which struck Vicky, leaving him in a critical condition.

Police Action and Arrests

Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team rushed to the scene and initiated a search for the culprits. Vicky was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment, while an FIR was lodged against seven individuals, including Akash, at the Yerawada police station. The accused were arrested under various sections of the IPC, including attempt to murder, extortion, criminal intimidation, and rioting.

Upgraded Charges

Following Vicky Chandalia’s unfortunate demise, the charges against the accused have been upgraded to include murder under section 302 of the IPC. The police have also deployed additional security measures during Vicky’s funeral to prevent any untoward incidents.
