Tragic Wall Collapse Incident Claims Another Victim in Gurugram

A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Street No. 8 of Arjun Nagar Colony in Gurugram, where a 10-year-old girl tragically lost her life due to a wall collapse. The devastating event, which occurred on Saturday evening, has now claimed a total of five lives, including the young girl and four other individuals.

Details of the Incident

The wall collapse took place at around 6.20 pm, when a portion of the wall from the Rambagh cremation ground suddenly fell onto locals who were sitting nearby. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras mounted in the street, providing a chilling visual of the tragic event.

Victims of the Tragedy

The victims of the wall collapse include Devi Dayal (70), Krishan (52), Manoj Gaba (54), and an 11-year-old girl named Khushboo, all residents of Arjun Nagar Colony. The recent victim, a 10-year-old girl identified as Tanya, succumbed to her injuries following the collapse.

Legal Action Taken

Following the incident, an FIR was registered against the management of the cremation ground improvement committee, which includes its president Paramjit Singh Oberoi and members Subhash Kharbanda and KK Jhamb. The charges filed against them include endangering life or personal safety, death due to negligence, and causing damage under the Indian Penal Code.

Complaint by a Survivor

Dalip Kumar, also known as Deepa Pradhan, who remains in stable condition at Artemis Hospital, lodged a complaint stating that the wall had been tilting for a long time. Despite repeated warnings from his brother Anil, who shared pictures of the tilting wall with the committee, no action was taken to prevent the tragic incident.

Investigation and Action

Inspector Avtar Singh from the New Colony Police Station assured that a thorough investigation is underway, and appropriate legal action will be taken against those responsible for the heartbreaking loss of lives in this tragic wall collapse incident in Gurugram.
