Two Chicago Residents Arrested in Delaware for Felony Shoplifting

NEW CASTLE, Delaware (WPVI) — Over the weekend, two individuals from Chicago found themselves in legal trouble in Delaware after being arrested on felony shoplifting charges. The incident took place at the Lowe’s store on the 2200 block of Hessler Boulevard in New Castle.

Details of the Incident

On a Saturday morning, state troopers received a call reporting a theft at the Lowe’s store in New Castle. The suspects, a man and a woman, were said to have stolen merchandise from the store before fleeing in a Chrysler minivan.

Shortly after, a Lowe’s employee spotted the suspects at a Dunkin’ location on the 2000 block of Concord Pike in Wilmington. Law enforcement officers were quick to respond and apprehended the pair, later identified as 35-year-old Fabian Jaworski and 34-year-old Sandra Zelinska from Illinois.

Arrest and Recovery of Stolen Property

Following their arrest, state police conducted a search and recovered stolen Lowe’s merchandise, along with other stolen items valued at over $4,000. The suspects were allegedly involved in thefts amounting to $450 from the Lowe’s in Bear and another $1,900 worth of items from the Lowe’s in New Castle.

Legal Consequences

As a result of their actions, Jaworski and Zelinska are now facing felony charges of receiving stolen property over $1,500, conspiracy in the 2nd degree, and additional related offenses.

It is crucial to note that committing theft or shoplifting can have severe legal consequences, as demonstrated by this incident involving the two Chicago residents in Delaware.
