Four Arrests Made After Shooting Incident in Parkersburg, West Virginia

In a recent incident on Tygart St. in Parkersburg, West Virginia, four individuals have been arrested following a shooting with injuries. The Parkersburg Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Tygart Street just after 8 a.m. for the reported incident.

Discovery of the Victim

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered Robert Aguilar with a gunshot wound to a lower extremity. The investigation led detectives to suspect Aaron Cross, who was Aguilar’s roommate at the time of the incident.

Search and Discovery

A search of the apartment where the incident took place revealed approximately four grams of suspected Fentanyl, four grams of suspected methamphetamine, and items commonly used in the sale and distribution of controlled substances. Detectives also learned that Cross might be hiding with family on the 900 block of 19th Street.

Arrests Made

Officers proceeded to secure the residence on 19th Street while obtaining a search warrant. Two individuals, Lisa Watson and Alexus Steakley, physically resisted officers’ attempts to enter the residence. However, once the warrant was obtained, Cross was located in the basement and arrested. Steakley was found to be concealing a substantial amount of suspected Fentanyl on her person.

Charges and Seizures

Aguilar is facing charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, while Cross is charged with Wanton Endangerment with a Firearm, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, and Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. Steakley is charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance and Transporting a Controlled Substance into a Jail or Correctional Facility. Watson faces charges of Battery of a Police Officer and Obstructing.

In total, authorities seized 51 grams of Fentanyl, four grams of methamphetamine, a firearm, and approximately $5,000 in cash as a result of the investigation.

The incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat the distribution of illegal substances in the community, as well as the dangers associated with such activities.
