Vavdi, April 21: In the quiet neighbourhood of Laxmi Narayan Society in Vavdi, a heartbreaking incident unfolded on Saturday, April 20, that left the community in shock. A 14-year-old boy named Renish Nakani was playing cricket near his home when tragedy struck, and he collapsed suddenly, losing his life in a matter of moments.

The Tragic Loss:

Renish, a bright class 7 student and the youngest among his three brothers, was beloved by his family and friends. Despite frantic efforts to rush him to the civil hospital, Renish could not be saved and was declared dead upon arrival. The sudden and unexpected nature of his passing has left his loved ones in mourning.

A City in Grief:

The city of Rajkot faced another heart-wrenching loss when a 37-year-old man, Manoj Bavaliya, collapsed and passed away while attending a friend’s son’s wedding in Kagdadi village near Rajkot. Manoj, the youngest among seven siblings, also fell victim to a suspected heart attack, adding to the growing concern over cardiac emergencies in the region.

Alarming Statistics:

Recent reports have highlighted a concerning trend of sudden heart attacks, especially among young individuals, in Gujarat. Education Minister Kuber Dindor revealed that 1,052 people lost their lives due to heart attacks in the last six months, with 80% of the victims being below 25 years of age. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for increased awareness and access to cardiac care services.

Rising Health Concerns:

Emergency Medical Response and Information Services (EMRI) data has shown a significant 35% increase in cardiac emergencies in Gujarat compared to the previous year, with a total of 72,573 cases recorded in 2023.
